RESCUE Mission from a Houston Backyard Puppy Mill

100.7 The Word KKHT Houston > The BEST Bible Teachers The BEST Talk ShowsMeet PIPER!  She is a spayed purebred long hair Chihuahua born 11-1-05.  Piper will need a special and very quiet home.  She is extremely timid and will need a new family that will tenderly work with her on her confidence.  She's a major lap dog deluxe, perfect for a stay-at-home computer junkie!!

This is BUDDY.  He's in a fabulous foster home right now.  His foster home reports: This sweet young dog decided to camp out on my doorstep and I am trying to find him a good home.

He is very good boy, calm and submissive. White and Tan American Staffordshire Terrier/Bull Dog – very muscular- about 11 mo. old and neutered.  He is house trained, smart and friendly with other dogs, kids and adults.  He knows the commands -  come, stay, sit, back, watch and no. He will let you take away a rawhide bone no problem.  You can pet him while he eats even if it is a treat.  He rides well in the car and likes the wind in his face.  You can touch him anywhere, he is an angel at the vet - even with shots.  Takes a bath very well, inside or outside.

He is being crate trained and is doing really well. He is very loving and wants to be with you all the time.  He likes to cuddle.

He walks well and likes to play ball for short periods of time. He should not be in a home with cats.  This is a wonderful dog!

RANGER!   This loveable Blue Heeler needs a job to keep him busy and a farm would be the perfect environment.  He loves to jump and would make a fantastic Frisbee dog.
This is O'Reilly.  He lived at Noah's Ark for 3 years before being adopted to a great home.  Somehow during Hurricane Ike he lost his home.  O'Reilly is microchipped, but his owners failed to register their new address with AVID microchip company, so we're unable to re-unite him with his family.  Microchips are life savers, but they're invalid if your information is not current.  He's a very good dog, but needs a home without cats and with a female dog playmate.

KINSLEY Found A Home!!!  We've had Kinsley for several years now.  He found the ideal home and has a play buddy too.   Hurray for Kinsley!!

HB is a 2 year old spayed male Akita mix who was found wondering the parking lot of H.E.B., hence the name HEB. His coat is beautiful shiny, and black with a white chest.  While you pet him he loves to sit in your lap as if he was a lap puppy.  He is very loving and would much rather hang out with people than the other dogs.

Thank you Girl Scout Troop 3155 for bringing food and supplies.   The animals enjoyed your visit and appreciated the treats, pampering and attention!!
We have several litters of puppies at the Sanctuary. Please spay and neuter your pets!Thank you Troop 16047 for spending your day helping at the shelter.   The puppies loved the special attention!

Powder Puffs

All of the Chinese have found homes, but you can still view their pictures by Clicking HERE.

CHINESE CRESTED - both Hairless and Powder Puff

Noah's Ark is cooperating with a breeder that has fallen ill and can no longer care for her dogs.   We are helping with SEVENTY Chinese Crested and Tea Cup Chihuahua's (not yet pictured).  Due to the large number of dogs and space availability at the shelter, we are rescuing the dogs in phases.   The Chihuahua's are both toy, miniature, short hair, long hair, dark chocolate, cream and all really adorable.  All shelter dogs are spayed/neutered before being available for adoption as required by Texas State Law.

ZEUS came to live at Noah's Ark at  6 weeks old with sarcoptic and demodectic mange.   He completely lost all of his hair and was completely unsightly.  With a LOT of Tender Loving Care from the volunteers at the shelter, he is now ready to find a home of his own.   A very dedicated volunteer personally sponsored his very expensive bottles of special shampoo, salve and mite treatment.   Zeus says, "Thank You, I feel much better"!!   Please call to inquire about Zeus.  He is a loving little dog and would make a great family companion.  He is leash and crate trained.

Mickey, a Lab/Border Collie mix was found starving, dehydrated with road rash and a broken leg near Waller. We’re guessing Mickey was hit by a car and left to die.  A good Samaritan brought Mickey to Noah’s Ark asking for help for the suffering dog. Mickey was referred to a special surgeon who managed to save her leg, although it was much more costly than an amputation. Mickey is very happy that she still has all four legs.  See the severity of her broken leg on the xray to the left.

Mickey will need a very loving and patient owner to help her through her tough time.   When you meet her, you will undoubtedly fall in love.   She's a true treasure.

Please make a donation to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, a 501 c(3) No-Kill Sanctuary to help cover the cost of Mickey’s surgery. Any amount is greatly appreciated!

Good News!  So far, $918.00 has been donated toward Mickey's surgery.   The total cost was $2,700.00.  Thank you to United Animal Nations for the Emergency  Lifeline Grant toward her surgery!
